On Monday, September 23, 2013, Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV), Democratization Program will launch its new analysis report, “Judicial Packages: An Evaluation Based on Rights and Liberties” with a press conference and a panel.
Published as part of TESEV’s ongoing work on judicial reform, the report focuses on the four judicial reform packages released by AK Party government between 2011 and 2013. This report analizes the Judicial Packages and evaluates them from the perspective of rights and freedoms, and focuses especially on freedom of expression, right to liberty and security, right to a fair trial as well as the execution system.
The program will commence with the presentation of the report and will be followed by a panel discussion that will focus on the judicial packages as well as the upcoming Democratization Reform Package.
